The Paris Court of Appeal will deliver its judgment on Marine Le Pen's conviction on 7 July. If the appellate court upholds the first‑instance verdict, the RN leader – who declares herself the party’s natural presidential candidate – will be barred from running in the 2027 election.

Ahead of the ruling, RN cadres will meet on 12 June for a second internal seminar, a session described by members as a “taboo” topic. Party figures discussed the potential impact on leadership, with Jordan Bardella, RN president since 2019, positioning himself as a possible future candidate while the party retains poll support above 30 %.

Le Pen’s original sentence included four years of imprisonment (two with suspended sentences), a €100 000 fine and five years of immediate ineligibility. The internal debate also touched on the RN’s pension reform proposals, highlighting divisions within the party as it prepares for upcoming electoral contests.
