Mario Benavente Gains Massive Backing from Gerardo Zamora and Governor Elías Suárez Ahead of August 2 Election
Senator Gerardo Zamora and provincial governor Elías Suárez led two large plenary meetings of the Frente Cívico por Santiago to endorse Mario Benavente's candidacy for mayor of the Capital city. The first gathering was held at the Club Coronel Suárez with militants from circuits 7, 7A and 9, and the second took place at the Frente Cívico headquarters with residents from circuits 1, 5 and 6.
Both events were attended by vice‑governor Carlos Silva Neder, intendenta Norma Fuentes, senator José Neder and candidate Justo Molina Areal, among other local officials and party leaders. Benavente pledged to pursue an inclusive city agenda focused on sport, culture, education and job training, and announced plans to introduce new technologies to modernize municipal services.
