Italian Democratic Party reshuffles local leadership in Macerata, Cirò Marina and other towns

The Democratic Party (PD) held a series of internal elections and reorganisations across several Italian municipalities. In Macerata, Mario Iesari was elected secretary of the local PD branch by unanimous vote, with Alessia Scoccianti appointed president of the assembly. A new executive team was also confirmed for the city chapter.

In the southern town of Cirò Marina, Nicodemo Bastone presented the newly formed secretariat, outlining priorities on environment, culture, welfare and citizen participation. The party also announced a fresh secretariat in Marino, where local leaders Marco Comandini and Daniela Pace responded to criticism from former mayoral candidate Fabio Mestici.

Further PD activities included a meeting of the party’s representatives with the Comites of San Marino, discussing issues affecting Italians abroad, and a provincial assembly that introduced an internal “Liberi e Uguali” area. In the Sannio region, Samuele Ciambriello resigned from the provincial secretariat, citing ideological disagreements, while in Vibo Valentia the party group elected Maria Fiorillo as its new council leader.

These moves reflect the PD’s efforts to reinforce internal cohesion, update its organisational structures and address local political challenges.
