Mario Puche and Alicante Council Clash Over Tambora Nightclub License

Mario Puche, chief executive of Grupo Magma, the owner of the Tambora nightclub in Alicante, has accused the city council of a two‑year delay after the Urbanismo department sealed the venue on Thursday for operating without a proper licence and other irregularities. Puche argues that the club has submitted all required documentation and can continue to operate under a "declaración responsable" while the definitive licence is resolved, and he claims the sealing order was pre‑planned.

The Alicante council counters that the submitted paperwork does not remedy the identified urban‑planning, environmental and safety deficiencies. Officials note that the security plan does not meet Decree 143/2015 requirements, the proposed use of the site does not fit the permitted categories, the pergolas lack a minor‑work licence, and related permits such as parking and provisional use have been pending for over 290 days.
