Marion Cotillard stars in new film ‘Milo’ at San Sebastian Film Festival
Marion Cotillard stars in the new film ‘Milo’, directed by Nicole Garcia, which is competing in the Official Section of the San Sebastian Film Festival (Zinemaldia).
The film follows a woman who travels to a small French town to work as a waitress in an attempt to be near the son she gave up for adoption two decades earlier. The protagonist was forced to relinquish her child after being imprisoned for her involvement with a revolutionary group.
Director Nicole Garcia noted that the project explores the tension between political activism and motherhood. Co-writer Jacques Fieschi emphasized the narrative focus on the character’s relationship with her past and the gradual revelation of her history to the audience.
