Marion Cotillard film and festival activities

French actress Marion Cotillard has been featured in recent cinematic developments, beginning with her starring role in the film ‘Milo’, directed by Nicole Garcia. The film, which competed in the Official Section of the San Sebastian Film Festival, explores themes of political activism and motherhood through a protagonist attempting to reconnect with a son she gave up for adoption.

Cotillard has also been appointed as the jury president for the 23rd Marrakech International Film Festival, which is scheduled to take place from November 20 to 28, 2026. In this capacity, she will lead the selection process for the ‘Étoile d’Or’ award, a competition dedicated to feature films representing the first or second works of their directors.

Reflecting on her appointment, Cotillard noted her long-standing connection to the event, stating, “I have been fortunate enough to attend the Marrakech International Film Festival since its very beginnings; I’ve had wonderful experiences there and met some truly remarkable people.” She added that supporting filmmakers during their early careers is a vital part of the festival’s identity, calling it “a great joy for me to chair the jury this year.”
