Maritime search operations report fatalities and missing crew in Chile and Mexico

Separate maritime incidents involving missing fishermen have been reported in Chile and Mexico.

In Chile, the Chilean Navy is conducting search and rescue operations in the Magallanes Region following the disappearance of the motorboat Talymar. Fishermen reported finding debris from the vessel in the Bahía Sea area. The boat, used for sea urchin harvesting, was lost in the waters of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago. Search efforts are facing difficult weather conditions, including winds of 10 to 15 knots and waves reaching heights of 2.5 to 3.5 meters. The whereabouts of the four crew members remain unknown.

In Mexico, a search operation off the coast of Tonalá, Chiapas, resulted in a fatality. Two fishermen, identified as 30-year-old Víctor Andrés and his father Saraín, went missing after departing from Bahía de Paredón. They were located on Wednesday by colleagues participating in search efforts. Saraín was found deceased, while Víctor was transported to Juan C. Corpio Hospital for medical attention. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
