Marko Đurić defends Serbia's image against 'General Staff' affair
Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić addressed the National Assembly, expressing concern over the political and economic damage caused to Serbia's international image by the fabricated ‘General Staff’ affair. Đurić stated that the exploitation of this matter led to negative coverage in major international publications, such as the New York Times and Washington Post, which he claims portrayed the entire country negatively rather than just the government.
Đurić criticized opposition members for attempting to criminalize the government during efforts to strengthen political and economic ties with the United States. He specifically defended politician Nikola Selaković, noting that Selaković was unfairly targeted and accused of responsibility regarding the affair despite his service to the country.
