Markopoulo Complex to become new major festival venue in Attica

The Markopoulo Complex, located at the former Olympic Equestrian Centre in Attica, is being transformed into a major new destination for large-scale concerts and festivals. This development marks a significant shift for the Release Athens festival, which previously utilized Plateia Nerou as its primary location.

Designed as a flexible, large-scale venue, the complex can be configured to meet various production needs. It is intended to function as an integrated entertainment destination rather than just a concert site, offering green spaces, relaxation areas, and food services to encourage longer visitor stays. The facility will feature two stages, including one housed under a 4,000 square meter tent to provide shade and comfort.

Accessibility is a key feature of the site, which is located near the Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. The venue is reachable via the Attiki Odos motorway, the Koropi metro station (with shuttle bus services), and offers extensive parking facilities.
