Markopoulo Complex festival venue development

Overview

The Markopoulo Complex, located at the former Olympic Equestrian Centre in Attica, is being developed into a major destination for large-scale concerts and festivals. This venue is designed to function as an integrated entertainment destination featuring green spaces, relaxation areas, and food services.

The Release Athens music festival is transitioning to this new location from its previous primary site at Plateia Nerou. For its 2027 edition, the festival plans to utilize two stages, including one situated under a 4,000 square meter tent to provide shade. The Californian alternative-pop band The Neighbourhood is confirmed as a headliner for the June 25 performance.

To ensure accessibility, the complex offers extensive parking and is reachable via the Attiki Odos motorway and the Koropi metro station, which will be linked to the site through shuttle bus services.
