Marília hosts breastfeeding awareness event for students

In Marília, the municipal government held the “O Reino do Leite Dourado” event at the Waldir Silveira Mello Municipal Theater as part of the “Agosto Dourado” campaign. The initiative, organized by the Municipal Health Secretariat and the Human Milk Bank (BLH) in partnership with the Education and Culture secretariats, aimed to promote the importance of breastfeeding for child health and development.

More than 200 students from four municipal elementary schools attended the event, which featured musical performances, choirs, and theatrical scenes designed to teach the benefits of breastfeeding in an accessible way. Local health officials highlighted the Human Milk Bank as a reference in the state and country for its work supporting mothers and saving the lives of premature infants.
