Marília Mendonça documentary series to premiere on Prime Video

Prime Video has released the trailer and official poster for ‘Marília Mendonça: Sentimento Louco’, a documentary series scheduled to premiere on October 16. The production explores the life and career of the influential Brazilian sertanejo singer, tracing her journey from her origins in Cristianópolis, Goiás, to her status as a major national icon.

The series utilizes personal archives, behind-the-scenes footage, and exclusive interviews with family, friends, and professional collaborators. This project is the first major release under a licensing agreement between Amazon and the artist's estate, which also includes plans for a fictional feature film.

Directed by Susanna Lira and produced by Chatrone and Kromaki, the documentary aims to document the cultural impact of the singer, who was a leading female voice in the sertanejo genre before her death in a 2021 plane crash.
