Marília municipality resumes dengue‑prevention actions in north district

The city of Marília reinstated two dengue‑control operations on Saturday in its northern zone after a rain‑related delay. The activities, part of the Blocking of Breeding Sites (BCC) program, targeted the neighborhoods covered by the Jardim Renata and Santa Antonieta III/Julieta health‑care units. Twenty‑five health agents, three supervisors and drivers carried out inspections, eliminated potential Aedes aegypti breeding containers and instructed residents on weekly household checks.

Health officials reported 79 confirmed dengue cases in the municipality, none severe, and credited ongoing preventive work and community cooperation for keeping the outbreak under control. The city’s health secretary urged residents to allow agents entry and to remove any water‑holding containers to sustain the gains made.

The effort reflects the municipal government's broader push to maintain low dengue incidence through regular vector‑control actions and public awareness.
