Marriott partners with Catalonia Hotels on all‑inclusive resorts in Jamaica, Tanzania
Marriott International announced two partnership agreements with Spain's Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, signed on 22 July in Barcelona. The deals add a Marriott All‑Inclusive resort to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and an Autograph Collection resort to Zanzibar, Tanzania.
The Montego Bay property, to operate under the Marriott Hotels brand, will be built on the former Catalonia Montego Bay site and is slated to open in 2028 with 522 rooms, 13 food outlets, three pools, extensive meeting space, spa, fitness centre, tennis and pickleball courts, a lazy river and over 650 m of beachfront. The Zanzibar resort, to launch under the Autograph Collection, is a new‑build project expected to open in 2027 with 271 rooms focused on wellness amenities.
Laurent de Kousemaeker, Marriott’s Chief Development Officer for the Caribbean and Latin America, said the agreements mark a “key moment” in Marriott’s growth strategy for the all‑inclusive segment and highlight the strength of its partnership with Catalonia, which also manages the Renaissance Barcelona Fira Hotel.
