Marrit Steenbergen wins double gold at European Aquatics Championships

Dutch swimmer Marrit Steenbergen secured two gold medals at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris. She won the 100m freestyle with a time of 51.90 seconds, setting a new championship record. Milou van Wijk took the silver medal in the same event.

Steenbergen also led the Dutch relay team to victory in the 4x100m freestyle relay. The team, consisting of Milou van Wijk, Imani de Jong, Yara van Kalmthout, and Steenbergen, finished with a time of 3:31.89, narrowly missing the previous European record of 3:31.72 set in 2009. The relay team finished well ahead of Italy and Russia.
