Mars to invest 85 million euros in German production sites

Mars has announced plans to invest approximately 85 million euros into its German operations through 2027. This initiative aims to drive technological innovation, optimize production processes, and secure long-term competitiveness in the German market.

The investments will specifically target facilities in Viersen, which produces chocolate products, and Verden, which focuses on pet nutrition. These projects follow previous investments exceeding 150 million euros made between 2021 and 2025, bringing the company’s total multi-year investment in Germany to over 235 million euros.

Beyond machinery, the program includes safety improvements, employee training, and preparations for new packaging regulations. The German operations, which employ around 5,800 people, produce roughly 200,000 tons of products annually for domestic consumption and export to more than 100 countries.
