Marta Nawrocka commemorates Battle of Vienna at Kahlenberg
Marta Nawrocka is participating in commemorations at Kahlenberg in Vienna to mark the 343rd anniversary of the Battle of Vienna and the 43rd anniversary of Pope John Paul II’s visit to the site.
The events include a Holy Mass, a memorial ceremony involving the Polish Armed Forces, and meetings between the First Lady and members of the Polish diaspora in Austria. Additionally, the ceremonies coincide with the reopening of St. Joseph’s Church following a major renovation.
Jan Józef Kasprzyk, a presidential advisor, noted that the Battle of Vienna in 1683 was a decisive moment for European civilization, where the forces of King Jan III Sobieski defeated the Ottoman Empire. He emphasized that Kahlenberg serves as a symbol of Polish presence in Europe.
