Marten De Roon emerges as tactical asset for AS Roma

Marten De Roon is establishing himself as a key tactical asset for AS Roma following his move from Atalanta. Despite initial skepticism regarding his age, his recent performance during a half-hour appearance against Torino has demonstrated his ability to provide stability to the midfield.

Formerly known as an ‘equilibratore’ in Bergamo, De Roon has transitioned from a high-intensity athlete to a more positional defensive playmaker. His strengths lie in his composure, spatial awareness, and ability to win individual duels, qualities that allow him to act as a defensive director. While he may serve as a deputy to Cristante, his tactical intelligence and experience offer significant depth to Roma’s midfield.
