Martin McDonagh releases trailer for Wild Horse Nine

Director Martin McDonagh has released the official trailer and poster for his new thriller, ‘Wild Horse Nine’, scheduled for theatrical release on November 5, 2026. Starring John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell, the film is set on Easter Island just prior to the 1973 Chilean coup d'état.

The plot follows two CIA agents, Chris (Malkovich) and Lee (Rockwell), dispatched from Santiago to the remote island by their superior, MJ (Steve Buscemi). As they navigate conspiracies and their own dark pasts, their mission is complicated by Chris’s relationship with two rebel students.

The film has already garnered significant recognition on the festival circuit. Following its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, where it received a 14-minute standing ovation, John Malkovich was awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actor. The production has also been featured at the Telluride, Toronto, San Sebastián, Zurich, and BFI London film festivals.
