Martin Sellner denied entry to Canada for Hamilton conference

Austrian anti-immigrant speaker Martin Sellner was unable to enter Canada for a scheduled nationalist conference in Hamilton after failing to receive an electronic travel authorization in time. Sellner has characterized the denial of entry as “political persecution.”

Sellner was slated to speak at an event organized by the Dominion Society, a group advocating for “remigration.” The organization’s stated objectives include stripping permanent residency from over two million people and deporting between five and nine million immigrants.

B’nai Brith Canada had previously urged the Canadian government to deny Sellner entry, citing his past neo-Nazi affiliations, a youth conviction for defacing a synagogue, and his promotion of extremist rhetoric. Meanwhile, Hamilton Police issued a statement noting they are aware the Dominion Society is searching for venues and encouraged potential hosts to “consider the impact” on the local community.
