Maruti Suzuki Fronx reaches 5 lakh sales milestone in India

Maruti Suzuki's Fronx SUV became the first Nexa model to surpass 5 lakh domestic wholesales, recording 5.13 lakh units by May 2026 after 38 months on the market. The model posted its highest monthly volume of 20,686 units in May 2026, a 52 % year‑on‑year increase.

India's passenger‑vehicle market sold 189,908 units in May 2026, up 32.8 % from the previous year. Maruti Suzuki dominated the top three spots with the Dzire (24,546 units), Fronx (20,686 units) and Ertiga (20,350 units). Tata Motors held the fourth and fifth positions with the Punch (20,208 units) and Nexon (19,100 units). The strong performance of the Fronx contributed significantly to the overall sales surge.
