Maruti Suzuki to launch Brezza facelift with new turbo‑petrol engine in July

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd plans to introduce a facelift of its compact SUV Brezza in the second half of July. The update will retain the existing 1.5‑litre naturally aspirated petrol engine while adding a 1.0‑litre turbo‑petrol unit, the same powertrain used in the Fronx. The smaller engine places the model in the sub‑four‑metre, sub‑1.2‑litre tax bracket, lowering the GST rate that currently applies to the Brezza.

The refreshed model is expected to feature modest exterior revisions such as redesigned front and rear bumpers, a new grille and updated headlamp units, as well as incremental enhancements to safety, technology and convenience features. The current petrol and CNG variants will continue, with the CNG version potentially receiving an under‑floor tank to improve luggage capacity. The move aims to keep the Brezza competitive in India’s crowded compact SUV segment, where rivals already offer multiple power‑train choices.

Maruti Suzuki views the Brezza as a key volume contributor and hopes the facelift will boost its appeal to both value‑focused buyers and those seeking better performance.
