Maruti Suzuki's Victoris crosses 100k sales as it readies new 7‑seat SUV and electric MPV
Maruti Suzuki's mid‑size SUV Victoris reached the milestone of 1,00,144 units sold within eight months of its launch, becoming the brand's top‑selling model in the Indian SUV segment. The rapid uptake was driven by festive‑season demand and a range of power‑train options, including petrol, CNG and strong‑hybrid variants priced between ₹10.5 lakh and ₹19.99 lakh.
Under its Vision 3.0 plan, the company announced two further additions to its lineup. A new 7‑seat SUV, codenamed Y17 and based on the current Grand Vitara platform, is slated for a late‑2026 debut, offering extended wheel‑base, hybrid engines and family‑friendly features. Alongside it, an all‑electric MPV (code‑named YMC) built on the 27P skateboard chassis will also launch by the end of 2026, with battery options of 49 kWh and 61 kWh and an expected sales start in 2027. These moves aim to push Maruti’s domestic market share back toward 50 percent.
