Marvel and Lucasfilm announce Star Wars crossover comic

Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm have announced a new five-issue limited comic book series titled ‘Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles’. The crossover event is scheduled to run from January to May 2027, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of ‘Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope’.

The narrative will transport the events of ‘A New Hope’ into the Marvel Universe’s Earth-616 via a spell that dissolves the boundaries of reality. This will allow characters such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca to interact with Marvel heroes including Captain America, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Hulk, and Scarlet Witch.

A central conflict of the series involves the alliance between Darth Vader and Doctor Doom, two authoritarian figures. The series will be written by Kevin Smith and illustrated by David Marquez.
