Marvel and WEBTOON to launch new digital comics app

Marvel Comics and WEBTOON Entertainment have announced a new digital comics app, ‘Marvel Comics powered by WEBTOON’, set to launch on November 16. The platform will feature a catalog of over 35,000 titles, including properties from Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios. The app is designed for mobile and web, supporting both traditional page-based reading and vertical-scroll formats.

As part of this transition, the long-running Marvel Unlimited service will be discontinued. New subscriptions for Marvel Unlimited have ended, and the service is scheduled to sunset on December 7, 2026. Existing users will be able to migrate their reading history, pull lists, and purchased titles to the new app. Active subscribers will receive prorated refunds for unused periods around the November 16 launch.

The new service will offer two subscription tiers. The Base tier is priced at $9.99 per month or $69.99 per year, providing access to new issues approximately three months after their print release. The Ultimate tier is $12.49 per month or $99.99 per year, offering access to new issues as early as 30 days after publication. A ‘Founding Member’ deal is also available for those who pre-register.
