Marvel Comics and WEBTOON partner for new subscription service

Marvel Comics and WEBTOON Entertainment are partnering to launch a new comic subscription service in November. This transition follows the announcement that the long-running Marvel Unlimited membership will be sunsetted later this year.

At New York Comic Con, the companies showcased a beta version of the new app. The service is organized by single issues, similar to the previous Marvel Unlimited model. The partnership also includes the development of new digital content specifically for the WEBTOON format, including new series featuring characters such as the X-Men, Deadpool, and a reimagined teenage Tony Stark in ‘Tony’s Girl’.

During the NYCC event, fans were able to demo the app and participate in promotions, including pre-orders for an annual ‘Ultimate’ membership tier that offered exclusive limited-edition print ID cards for the first 2,000 subscribers.
