Marvel expands horror content via Midnight Suns game and Midnight Universe comics

Marvel is expanding its horror-themed content through both gaming and comic book releases. The tactical RPG Marvel's Midnight Suns, developed by Firaxis Games, features a card-based combat system where players control a customizable protagonist known as The Hunter alongside heroes such as Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Blade to combat supernatural forces.

In the comic book medium, Marvel has launched the Midnight Universe horror line with the release of Midnight X-Men #1. This new direction introduces mutant vampires known as Empyres and features conflict with William Stryker and his Purifiers. The series builds upon Marvel's long history of vampire lore, which includes established characters like Dracula and Blade's daughter, Bloodline.
