Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls faces backlash over PC requirements

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a 4-on-4 tag fighter developed by Arc System Works in collaboration with PlayStation Studios and Marvel Games, has faced significant backlash following its release on Steam.

Despite the game's visual blend of Japanese animation and American comic book styles, it has received a mixed rating due to technical issues and controversial requirements. Players on PC have reported performance instability, including frame rate drops and high CPU usage caused by background Sony SDK processes. Additionally, the game's netcode has been criticized for synchronization errors during online matches.

A primary driver of the negative reviews is the mandatory requirement to link a PlayStation Network (PSN) account to play the PC version. This requirement has prevented the game from being accessible in 132 countries where PSN support is unavailable. Arc System Works has acknowledged the performance issues on PC and stated that the team is investigating the matter.
