Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls sees weak Japanese sales and PC technical issues
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, developed by Arc System Works and distributed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, has experienced a weak commercial debut in the Japanese physical market. Data from Game Data Library indicates the title sold fewer than 3,000 physical copies on PlayStation 5 during its first week, falling behind previous franchise performances such as Guilty Gear and BlazBlue.
While physical sales in Japan were low, the game has seen more significant engagement internationally on PC, reaching peaks of 24,500 to 25,000 simultaneous players on Steam. However, the PC version has faced technical criticism due to instability, frame rate drops, and visual errors.
Producer Takeshi Yamanaka has issued an apology to players regarding these PC performance issues. The development team is currently working on stability improvements and has already released two patches to address the technical shortcomings.
