Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches with anime aesthetic

Arc System Works has released Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a superhero fighting game published by Sony for PC and PlayStation 5. The title features an anime-inspired aesthetic, blending Western comic book characters with Eastern visual styles. The launch roster includes 20 characters with diverse mechanics, such as Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, and Captain America.

Sony has announced the first DLC character, Phoenix Cyclops, scheduled for release this autumn. This version of Cyclops is based on the 2012 Avengers vs. X-Men storyline. Additionally, a collaboration with Insomniac Games will provide an exclusive Wolverine skin inspired by the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart outfit.

Players can unlock various alternative costume colors through gameplay. Colors 01 through 04 are available by default. Color 05 is unlocked by completing Episode Mode stories, Color 06 requires 10 casual online matches, Color 07 is obtained by defeating The Champion at level 100 in Survival Mode, and Color 08 is earned through combo and action challenges. Color 09 is exclusive to the Ultimate Edition.
