Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls reports low first-week sales in Japan

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a 4-on-4 team-based fighting game developed by Arc System Works, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Marvel Games, has reported low retail sales figures in Japan during its first week.

Development of the title involved a shift in visual direction. While Arc System Works initially proposed an aesthetic closer to Western comic book source material, Marvel encouraged the team to adopt a Japanese anime aesthetic. This change resulted in character designs, such as an Iron Man with anime mech elements, intended to cater to the Japanese market's preference for anime and manga styles.
