Sony producer apologizes for Marvel Tokon PC launch issues
Takeshi Yamanaka, the producer of Sony’s fighting game Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, has acknowledged the difficulties the title has faced on PC. Following a rocky launch, the game has seen a significant decline in popularity, with SteamDB data indicating that only about one-tenth of the original player base remains two weeks after release.
Players have cited several issues, including poor optimization, the requirement to connect to the PlayStation Network (PSN), problems with Sony’s development tools, and the anti-cheat system. These issues led to a surge of negative reviews on Steam.
Yamanaka expressed his apologies to the community, stating, “We realised that the issues on the PC version have caused many problems for the players, and we truly apologise for that.” While promising continuous work on future improvements, he admitted that it will be “extremely challenging” to win back the players who have left or requested refunds.
