Maserati unveils Project GT4 race car at Goodwood, targeting 2028 debut

Maserati showcased its Project GT4 race car at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Developed by Maserati Corse in Modena, the car is based on the new GranTurismo, sharing the 3.0‑liter twin‑turbo Nettuno V6 engine with Formula 1‑derived pre‑chamber combustion technology and delivering more than 700 hp. The GT4‑spec vehicle is rear‑wheel drive, weighs roughly 400 kg less than the road version, and features GT‑Trofeo‑derived suspension, adjustable dampers, anti‑roll bars and 18‑inch GT4‑compliant wheels.

Maserati says Project GT4 will enter competition in 2028, aiming to provide a competitive, reliable and cost‑effective option for GT4 teams. The launch coincides with the centenary of the Maserati Trident logo and 100 years of the brand in racing, highlighted by a special livery celebrating the milestone. Executives emphasized the project as a natural evolution of the Maserati Corse programme and a bridge between road‑car technology and motorsport performance.
