Iran: President Pezeshkian meets Supreme Leader Khamenei for seven hours

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a seven-hour meeting with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei to discuss critical national issues. The discussions focused on economic challenges, including livelihoods, market stability, employment, housing, and the impact of international sanctions. The leaders also addressed military developments and the ongoing regional conflict.

During the meeting, Khamenei emphasized the necessity of national unity and cohesion, warning that external enemies aim to create internal divisions. Pezeshkian used the occasion to deny reports of friction between the government, the Supreme Leader, and the armed forces, asserting that the administration's approach is fully aligned with the military.

Addressing rumors regarding the Supreme Leader's health, Pezeshkian stated that Mojtaba Khamenei is in full physical health. This follows previous speculation regarding injuries sustained during recent military strikes. Additionally, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that the conflict has global implications, particularly regarding the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz for energy supplies. To counter misinformation, Basij officials announced plans to release new footage and documents showing the Supreme Leader in public settings.
