Misinformation online has claimed the border would be opened, that migrants would receive asylum or financial aid, and that anyone reaching Ceuta could not be returned. Parallel to the security concerns, antisemitic conspiracy narratives have emerged, blaming Israel for the influx and being spread by far‑right and far‑left actors, a claim that has been widely debunked.
