Massa Lubrense: Young man seriously injured after diving accident
A young man was seriously injured at Baia di Ieranto in Massa Lubrense after accidentally colliding with another person while diving from a rock into the sea. The collision caused the young man to lose consciousness for approximately fifteen minutes.
Emergency responders were alerted by an environmental guide using the GeoResQ app, which allowed for precise geolocation. The Alpine and Speleological Rescue service deployed a ground team and requested a 118 helicopter from Salerno. The helicopter team stabilized the victim before transporting him to the Ospedale del Mare in Naples for medical treatment. Additionally, a rescue team from the Alpine and Speleological Rescue approached the site by sea from Capri, working in coordination with the Coast Guard.
