Massive Pro-Houthi Rallies in Yemen Demand Lifting of Saudi Blockade
On Friday, millions of demonstrators gathered in Sana'a’s “Square of the Seventies” and in several other provinces, forming a massive human flood. The rallies, organized by the Houthi movement, voiced strong support for its leader Abdul‑Malik al‑Houthi and the armed forces, endorsing the slogan “the blockade is a siege, the escalation is escalation”.
Protesters called for an immediate end to the Saudi‑led maritime and land blockade of Yemen, praised recent military actions against Saudi‑linked targets, and raised flags of Yemen, Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon and Iran while chanting anti‑Saudi and anti‑Western slogans. The demonstrations signal continued popular mobilization against what the organizers describe as foreign aggression.
