MasterChef Junior moves to Disney+ for its 12th season

The popular culinary talent show ‘MasterChef Junior’ is moving to Disney+ for its twelfth edition, marking its first season outside of RTVE after more than a decade on linear television. Produced by Shine Iberia, the new season is specifically designed for the streaming platform with a renewed structure and faster narrative rhythm.

Scheduled to release between December 18 and January 6, the season will consist of five episodes. To adapt to the platform, the format will reduce the number of challenges per episode to two major tests, allowing for more focus on each gastronomic challenge. The series will also incorporate themed episodes and tests inspired by the Disney universe.

Sixteen contestants between the ages of 8 and 12 will compete for a prize including 12,000 euros, a champion trophy, and a four-day course at the Basque Culinary Center.
