Matcha-based seasonal products launched in Japan

Various Japanese establishments are introducing seasonal matcha-based products.

Uunagi Washoku Daikoku is offering limited-time matcha desserts using Sayama matcha from Saitama Prefecture. Available until September 30, 2026, the menu includes a matcha parfait featuring two types of matcha ice cream, homemade agar, and sweet potato. Certain locations also offer matcha shaved ice made with natural ice from Shinshu.

In Tokyo, the matcha stand Yunomi. Matcha in Shinagawa is launching a unique ‘Kome Koji Matcha Latte’ from September 10 through late October. The drink combines freshly whisked matcha with ‘Kome Koji Milk,’ a plant-based fermented beverage made from rice and rice koji by Uonuma Jozo. This product aims to provide a Japanese-style alternative to common plant-based milks like oat or almond.
