Matcha yogurt gelato launched using ceremonial-grade tea from Uji
Hometown Artisan Dairy has introduced a new matcha yogurt gelato variety using ceremonial-grade matcha sourced from Uji, Kyoto. The matcha is produced through traditional stone-grinding methods to achieve a fine, umami-rich powder. This ingredient is paired with yogurt made from fresh milk sourced from small-scale dairy farms in Terbanggi, Lampung.
Beyond its culinary use, matcha offers several health benefits due to the consumption of the whole tea leaf. It is high in antioxidants, specifically epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which helps combat oxidative stress and inflammation. The combination of caffeine and L-theanine in matcha is noted for enhancing focus and relaxation without the jitters often associated with coffee. Additionally, regular consumption may support cardiovascular health by lowering LDL cholesterol and aiding metabolism.
