Matchbook acquires Betdaq brand and domains

Matchbook, a peer-to-peer betting exchange and market technology business, has completed the acquisition of Betdaq. The deal includes the Betdaq brand name and associated domain names.

Betdaq’s licensed operator, Exchange Platform Solutions Limited (EPS), is beginning an orderly closure of the exchange’s gambling operations. The service will remain open for trading until October 21, 2026, and customer accounts will remain accessible for withdrawals until November 4, 2026. EPS will cease operating Betdaq across all jurisdictions on October 21.

The acquisition does not include existing Betdaq customer accounts or the customer database; existing accounts will not automatically transfer to Matchbook. Customers wishing to use Matchbook must register separately and meet its verification requirements. Matchbook may potentially relaunch the Betdaq brand following the completion of the EPS closure.

Matchbook CEO Ronan McDonagh stated that the acquisition deepens the liquidity pool, aiming to provide tighter spreads and better prices by combining Betdaq’s heritage with Matchbook’s technology and pricing expertise.
