Matchbook acquisition of Betdaq
Overview
Matchbook, a peer-to-peer betting exchange and market technology company, has completed the acquisition of rival operator Betdaq. The deal includes the Betdaq brand name and associated domain names.
To facilitate an orderly transition, Betdaq’s licensed operator, Exchange Platform Solutions Limited (EPS), is closing its gambling operations. Trading is scheduled to remain open until October 21, 2026, with customer accounts remaining accessible for withdrawals until November 4, 2026. Matchbook has stated that customer funds will remain protected throughout this process in accordance with regulatory obligations.
The acquisition does not include existing Betdaq customer accounts or databases; customers must register separately with Matchbook. Matchbook CEO Ronan McDonagh noted that the acquisition aims to deepen the liquidity pool to provide tighter spreads and better prices, aligning with the growing global momentum of exchange betting and prediction markets.
