Mateusz Borek confronts Mediastalker over blocked YouTube broadcast
Mateusz Borek, a commentator for Kanał Sportowy, has publicly confronted Mediastalker, an AI company specializing in anti-piracy and license protection, following the disruption of a live sports broadcast on YouTube.
During the UEFA Conference League qualifying match between Raków Częstochowa and Hajduk Split, Kanał Sportowy's YouTube stream was abruptly terminated during post-match interviews. The broadcast, which reached a peak of over 187,000 simultaneous viewers, was flagged as illegal by Mediastalker.
Borek asserted that the transmission was legal under their contract, which granted rights for all regions except Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He criticized the company for incorrectly labeling the legitimate broadcast as pirated and announced that Kanał Sportowy intends to seek compensation. Borek specifically addressed Dimitris Drandakis, the co-founder and CTO of Mediastalker, on social media, stating that the company would not let the matter rest.
