Morawiecki's Rozwój Plus gains more PiS figures

Mateusz Morawiecki’s Rozwój Plus association continues to attract prominent figures from Law and Justice (PiS). Senator Ryszard Majer has officially joined the group, describing the move not as a departure from PiS but as a way to expand political reach and activate inactive voters. Majer, a historian and former deputy president of Częstochowa, stated that maintaining good relations is more important than political labels.

Other recent transfers include local government official Dominik Gabrysiak, the vice-starost of Zgierz County. The association, which already claims thousands of members, is evolving into a formal political force. Morawiecki has announced plans to establish a new political party by October 15, aiming to broaden the right-wing political offering.

The movement follows internal tensions within PiS, triggered by leadership ultimatums regarding membership in external organizations. The growing strength of Rozwój Plus, which now includes a parliamentary club, signals a potential fragmentation of the traditional right-wing monolith in Poland.
