Brazilian universities and institutes launch 2027 admission processes, offering thousands of slots

A wave of admission processes for the 2027 academic year has been opened across Brazil's public higher‑education system. The Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp) announced 3,358 regular slots, including new courses in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and International Relations, and will use an "overbooking" system to manage enrolments. UNEMAT (Universidade do Estado de Mato Grosso) opened 2,350 places, while the Federal Institute of Pará (IFPA) released 465 vacancies for undergraduate programmes. The Federal Institute of Mato Grosso (IFMT) launched its largest ever selection with 3,815 free technical‑integrated slots across 23 campuses, and the Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG) offered 4,985 places in technical and undergraduate courses. Smaller municipal selections were also published, such as Caldas Novas (837 education‑staff positions) and Canhotinho in Pernambuco (8 bilingual teacher posts). Together, these initiatives provide tens of thousands of new opportunities for students and educators nationwide, with many programmes reserving seats for public‑school graduates and under‑represented groups.
