Brazil agribusiness shows R$ 1.39 trillion production value in July

The Brazilian agribusiness sector is experiencing significant shifts in production and trade. The Gross Agricultural Production Value (VBP) for July 2026 is estimated at R$ 1.39 trillion, with crops contributing R$ 893.3 billion and livestock R$ 504.8 billion. Mato Grosso remains a dominant force, projected to reach a record 114.96 million tons of grain production in the 2025/26 cycle.

In the meat industry, Abiec reports R$ 808 million in beef business opportunities from the Siavs event, though exports from Mato Grosso fell by 7.71% in July as China's import quota was exhausted. Meanwhile, Mato Grosso do Sul achieved a trade surplus of over US$ 1 billion in July, driven largely by soybean exports, which accounted for 35.6% of its total exports.

Commodity markets also show volatility. Soybean prices in Mato Grosso do Sul rose 3.63% annually, while global sugar markets face a projected deficit of 2.9 million tons for the 2027/28 season. Additionally, the biodiesel industry is expanding, increasing the demand for soybean oil in Brazil.
