Brazilian agribusiness sees export growth and record harvests

Agribusiness exports in Mato Grosso do Sul grew 12.4% in the first half of 2026, reaching R$ 29 billion. This growth, representing a 7.9% increase in volume (10.15 million tons), was primarily driven by soybean and beef sales, which accounted for 55.4% of the state's agricultural external revenue. Soybean revenue specifically rose 30.5% to R$ 10.1 billion, supported by a 19% increase in production for the 2025/26 harvest.

In Mato Grosso, the second-crop corn harvest is nearing completion, with over 99% of the area already harvested. The Instituto Mato-grossense de Economia Agropecuária (Imea) estimates that the 2025/26 corn production for the state will reach a record 57.3 million tons due to expanded cultivated areas and strong crop performance. Remaining harvesting activities are expected to conclude by the first half of August, following some delays in the Southeast and Central-South regions caused by planting outside optimal windows.
