Mato Grosso Court investigates R$ 527,000 contract overpricing
The Court of Accounts of Mato Grosso (TCE-MT) has opened a special investigation to probe alleged overpricing of approximately R$ 527,493.23 in a land regularization contract. The agreement was signed between the Intermunicipal Consortium for Economic, Social, and Environmental Development of Vale do Guaporé (Cidesa) and the company Geogis Geotecnologia.
Technical audits identified signs of excessive pricing during the bidding process and overcharging during contract execution. Additionally, investigators noted potential manipulation of the competition by limiting the number of technical certificates required to prove bidder capacity. The contract originally aimed to regularize 4,199 properties across several municipalities, including Campos de Júlio and Comodoro.
Cidesa and Geogis Geotecnologia have contested the findings, arguing that no overpricing occurred and warning that suspending services could negatively impact the local population.
