Mato Grosso do Sul reports 10,041 confirmed chikungunya cases

Mato Grosso do Sul has recorded 12,663 probable cases of chikungunya in 2026, with 10,041 cases confirmed, according to the State Health Secretariat (SES). The epidemiological bulletin for the 32nd week reports 30 confirmed deaths linked to the virus across several municipalities, including Dourados, Bonito, and Corumbá. Additionally, 114 confirmed cases have been reported in pregnant women.

Regarding dengue, the state has documented 4,667 probable cases, of which 1,978 are confirmed. One death in Bonito has been confirmed, with two others currently under investigation. To combat the spread, the state has administered 223,322 doses of the dengue vaccine, targeting children and adolescents aged 10 to 14.
