Mato Grosso do Sul reports 9,832 confirmed chikungunya cases

Mato Grosso do Sul has recorded 9,832 confirmed cases of chikungunya in 2026, according to the 30th epidemiological week bulletin released by the State Health Secretariat (SES). Out of 12,579 probable cases, 30 deaths have been confirmed across several municipalities, including Dourados, Bonito, Jardim, and Ponta Porã. Additionally, 114 confirmed cases have been reported in pregnant women.

Regarding dengue, the state has reported 4,669 probable cases, with 1,873 confirmed. One death in Bonito has been confirmed, while another case is currently under investigation.

To combat dengue, the state has received 241,030 vaccine doses, with 223,322 doses applied so far. The vaccination campaign targets children and adolescents aged 10 to 14 years, a group that accounts for the highest number of hospitalizations for the disease among those aged 6 to 16.
